James has extensive experience working with under-performing schools and has been a Professional Service Provider, Turnaround Specialist for the State of Texas.
He provides hands-on workshops for Career and Technical Education, Reading, English, Math, Science and Social Studies teachers.
James has more than 30 years experience as a teacher, coach and consultant. James has been invited to and has presented workshops at numerous state and national conferences.
He founded Big Muscles, Inc. in 2000 and began consulting for school districts across Texas and the United States.
James teaches Assessment and methods classes at Texas Tech University in the College of Education and is the 2015 recipient of the
Spencer A. Wells Award for Creativity in Teaching Award given by the College of Education, Texas Tech University.

James Durham, President of Big Muscles Inc, provides education consulting services to schools and districts. James works closely with teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists to address their concerns. He helps identify areas that need to be addressed and works with schools and districts to develop solutions. James also evaluates data and can create and implement individualized and group improvement plans. He provides leadership and mentoring skills to administrators and teachers as well as coaching for departments and teams. James provides one, two and three day workshops as well as on-going, year long professional development.
